Congratulations to the recipient of the SCSTA 2022-2023 Communication Arts Award, Rachel Cooper! Rachel is the theatre teacher at Meadow Glen MS and has served on the SCSTA Executive Council for most of her professional career! We are so grateful for her service to her students and her passion for theatre!

"Rachel Cooper has spent her career encouraging her students to go for it. She gives them the tools to become not just great actors and creators but great people. In her 27 years of teaching, she has spread the love of theatre to thousands of students all over the Columbia and Lexington area. Rachel teaches from joy and positivity. She truly believes every one of her students has the ability to get up on stage. She shares her passion for theatre everyday and students walk away with a little piece of her passion with them. Regardless if they become professional actors or not, all her students adore Rachel for what she gave them. The confidence to be incredible and kind people.
